The 3T ‘cycling amigos’ – Daniel Jackson, David Collier and Peter Spranatis have successfully completed their mission, the 2014 ‘ride to conquer cancer’. The event was a ride from Melbourne to Mornington, and back, a course of some 200 kilometres over two days. 3T trainers, Sophie and Tim, were at Albert Park to see ‘their boys’ cross the finish line.
The ‘amigos’ were joined by their friends, and fellow riders, Lisa and Adam Nicolson. The ride itself preceded months of planning and work to raise funds for the ‘cancer cause’ – the Peter Mac Foundation. Together, as part of the fundraising efforts for the event, the group held a Guinness World Record attempt for the worlds largest boxing lesson. It was a terrific initiative.
Originally, Anthony Mundine was scheduled to attend the event as its major drawcard, however he pulled out of the commitment the week prior to the event. Regardless, the event engaged the local Bendigo community with a large number of participants donating their time, money and effort for the cause. 3T Fitness threw its support behind the event, with a number of its members participating – well done team on supporting another worthy cause!
3T Head Trainer Sophie Hawken said after the event:
“We are very proud of the 3T guys and their team for sticking together through the ride, and supporting a cause close to their hearts. Congratulations to the entire team. Also, I’m again impressed by the support the 3T members show each other – well done team”
